Baseball net Part-III
A Baseball net like a positive show such as This Week in Baseball featuring Mel Allen was indeed the Baseball Net that got so many fans to truly love those Saturday morning games. In fact This Week in Baseball was such a good baseball net that many of the active players got pretty excited whenever they were featured on it. It can be more and more difficult for Major League Baseball to get younger, inner city kids to want to play the game of baseball. They haven't found the baseball net in order to draw them in with. Maybe it is because some of the inner city youth are now more willing to try a sport like golf and just can't be drawn in by the baseball net anymore.
Dontrelle Willis was an inner city youth who spent time in the Chicago Cubs organization and was drawn in by the baseball net. The trade that the Cubs made with the Florida Marlins that sent Dontrelle to Florida may be one that they regret for a very long time to come. Some trades just don't seem to work out too well from time to time for one team or the other. The general manager who swings the deal just gets caught up in the baseball net of the moment and often sacrifices potential long term gains for their organization in order to have a short term fix. That baseball net of the moment can force the general manager to trade all the major pitching prospects in an organization for a first ballot Hall of Famer in waiting like Randy Johnson.
Once again that baseball net of the moment can make a general manager look like a real hero or a zero down the road depending upon exactly how the trade works out. That baseball net of the moment can even cost a general manager their job if they are not careful with the trades that they execute.
