Seo Challenge
Recently I was challenged to prove my search engine optimization skills. I have never questioned my own skills since I knew that all my successes where brought to me by 2 things, the first was my search engine optimization skills and the second my partner in crime, a technical wizard in her own realm. I never really documented much of my success for the simple reason that I didn't have too. SEO was never a business for me, it was just a tool that I learned to bring in business for me and the businesses that I have been involved with. I never had a company or boss that asked me for results or flow charts, let alone explanations of anything that involved search engine optimization or marketing. I have always had freedom to experiment and dabble in a field that just felt natural for me. Don't get me wrong, I have had many challenges come across my way over the years with SEO. The ride hasn't been easy but yet it hasn't been that difficult since I have been following the growth of search engines practically since day one. My relationship with search engine optimization has been a back and forth trilogy that has led me to the person I am today, I consider myself a "search engine expert" or for short, "SEO Expert" and this challenge will prove that this title is fitting of my work.
Throughout the years or even a little over the last decade, I have always had friends ask me how I get such good results in the search engines. I have worked in the fashion and retail ecommerce business for the past 7 years and until this day I get stopped and asked how I end up with top positions next to billion dollar companies. I share positions with companies that have million dollar marketing budgets but yet, I sit either above them or side by side in the top search engines for the top search phrases. People have speculated that I have an "In" with the search engines, something I can easily deny. I have tried to help educate and share my knowledge in the past but only to come to realize that past friends where actually looking to build their own skills and possibly even become my competition. I have been lead down the wrong path with some bad business partners in the past that have taken advantage of my SEO skills only to realize that what I possess is of value and a tool to cherish and grow.
I always thought that my principles of SEO where pretty simple and readily available on the Internet. Now I understand that even if you have the answers in front of you it doesn't mean that you will fully or even partially understand how to achieve your goal. For example, you can give me the ingredients and instructions on how to bake a cake but I still won't do a very good job baking a cake. Give me a paint set with tracing paper and I will still give you art that looks like it came from a 2nd grader. Search engine optimization is the same way. If you don't have the natural skill and understanding, if you don't have passion for your art, if you don't fully understand the concepts without a manual, your not an SEO expert or an SEO practitioner in any way. All the answers for SEO sit one click away from you, free SEO tips are all over the internet, instruction manuals are all online and are provided for free and still search engine optimization may be one of the most difficult and mysterious topics discussed on internet.
The SEO Quest
Now that I have a legitimate challenge ahead of me I decided that instead of proving my SEO skills on someone else's website I may as well create my own website documenting my journey in becoming Philadelphia's number one SEO expert. I bought this domain name many years ago, never really having a purpose but now I find myself compelled to build something that will prove and help others in their SEO challenge.
The Goal - Become "Philadelphia's #1 SEO Expert"
Philadelphia has been home to me throughout most of my life. To make a long story short, I grew up in the Philly area since I was six years old when my family migrated from Israel in 1982. I left Philadelphia for a few years and worked for a well known chip company called "Intel" in the late 1990's and lived as close to silicon valley as you can during the dot com boom. I called Sacramento home for nearly four years only to come back to Philadelphia, the place I have always loved and hated for reasons most Philly people would understand and relate too. Becoming an entrepreneur gave me a unique opportunity to live where I chose after I started my own businesses that was propelled by search engine optimization. As I once wished to leave the Philadelphia area I had come back to something I can't explain except for the fact that it felt like home.
For the last 8 years I have lived around the Philadelphia area calling it my place of business. Becoming Philadelphia's number one search engine expert will not be an easy task by any means but it is a challenge that I embrace. Philadelphia has many marketing companies and so called Philly SEO experts but I challenge most of their abilities as many deal with unethical principles and have bad SEO practices. Some of the SEO experts practicing in the Philadelphia area are actually old friends that consider their skills to be professional. SEO today is like the old outlaw days, there isn't a Marshall to monitor the rules or laws. Don't get me wrong, there are a handful of great search engine experts within the Philadelphia area and they excel in their work. I commend those that truly understand and know search engine optimization. It's like Tiger Woods or Michael Jordan, some people have the natural talent for search engine optimization and others must work twice as hard for the same results. Unfortunately there are more bad practicing SEO so-called experts then good. Part of my SEO goal will be to identify bad practices and shine a light on non ethical SEO as I go along my journey.
Becoming Philadelphia's #1 SEO expert may seem like a difficult accomplishment and don't get me wrong, it is even by my standards but I am fully confident in my SEO expertise and I believe that within the next year, if you follow my progress, you will see the great accomplishment that I set out today. Along the way my hopes are that you will benefit from all the search engine optimization and web marketing information that I will provide. This is a mighty task but something I am ready to begin. As I document my work, I will also provide free SEO tips, SEO do's and dont's, the best SEO advise, and a ton of search engine optimization consulting along the way. Please join the chat discussions by leaving your comments and email me with questions. I will set up limited amounts of free phone consultations for those that ask. Contact me and I'm sure that a 30 minute conversation will benefit your web marketing skills for life.
Search engine optimization has always been my formula for success! Nothing feels better then achieving top 5 results in Google. Well, one thing does feel better, achieving number 1 placement always has that special place in my heart. I have achieved top positions in the major search engines dozens and dozens of times if not hundreds of times. You can always contact me for references or examples as I have nothing to hide. Now that this challenge has interested me and gotten my attention, let the fun times begin

SEO Book or SEO Blog? How Should I Read this Website?
I want to make sure that the readers of this website understand the difference between an SEO book and an SEO blog and I want to briefly talk about what this website is going to cover, it's topics, target audience and what will not be covered or discussed. As I started writing some of my topics and thinking about the sections that I wanted to cover in this SEO project and I realized that what I don't want to do is write another SEO book.
